Father of two, husband (of one), and writer of stories.

Shady guy with a made up name.

I post about what I'm writing, what I'm reading, and other stuff which strikes my fancy.

Currently Reading: Patrick Rothfuss - The Wise Man's Fears

I find I used to spend my time thinking of the past, allowing thoughts to drift to things better left behind.

Now I find I spend my time living in the future, focusing my energy on what I want to see.

I need to find a way to remind myself to stand firmly in the present and not to worry about what’s past and what’s to come.

A few weeks ago, I submitted a short story for possible inclusion in an anthology which would put my work beside a TON of well known fantasy writers.  It would be incredible for me if I were accepted.
Originally, they were saying winners would be announced on October 13, but they ended up getting flooded with submissions and have now basically said “Winners will be announced when they’re announced.”
But I am checking their website like, five times a day in hopes that they pick mine.

So… a certain someone said yesterday that she has “never read a book in (her) life” and that “people who read are stupid.”

I. Could. Have. Raged.

People who read are not stupid.  In fact, people who read are smart.  People who DON’T read are stupid.

But more than that.

There are millions of people who DON’T KNOW HOW TO READ.  Who would want NOTHING MORE THAN THE ABILITY TO READ.

You have the ability to read, and you don’t use it while these people suffer, yes, suffer?!

I was livid.

Look at you, all fancy and stuff with a real URL. :p

Well, you know, I’m a REAL AUTHOR.  I’m all fancy and I’ve been published in… well, yeah, I’m still working on that one… but the URL was $1 for a year, I couldn’t turn that down!
